PETER FINNIGAN ARCHITECTS

Lurand is a large family home built on the site of an abandoned, listed old farm steading on North Ronaldsay. It is built within the footprint of the original stone built steading and has incorporated elements of the original buildings. New built elements have been designed to visually respect the original steading buildings.

The interior of the house has an open plan design with a central family bathing pool and a second storey ‘lookout’. The design allows each occupied room of the house to enjoy a different sea view and the ability to enjoy the changing Orkney light.
