This is a Remodelling and extension of a traditional Orkney farmhouse and steading located in Evie. The brief asked to incorporate modern, comfortable, energy efficient living spaces within the existing fabric – all to be able to take advantage of the beautiful views from the site. By the introduction of minimal new buildings linking the existing ones and the use of traditional details and materials such as skews, Welsh slate roof and a subtle mix of both traditional harled and stonework walls all help to create a comfortable modern home that fits naturally into the site.
